You guessed it! I finished my dress this weekend! I finished the sleeves Friday. Saturday, I pipped the bottom edge and the cuffs of the sleeves and sewed the collar on. Then on Sunday, I binded off the neckline and sewed on all the hooks and eyes. Almost all of what I did this weekend was by hand, totaling about 6 hours. Sewing on them hooks and ( Read more... )

Last night I worked on my dress and I got the sleeves done and sewen onto the bodice! yay! All I have to do now is hem the sleeves, the bodice bottom edge, the collar, and then the hooks and eyes! I worked on the sleeves for about four hours last night.

On Saturday, I worked on the bodice of my dress (sewing down the gathers down the front)and I also cut out the sleeves and the sleeve puffs and I started gathering the sleeve puffs also. Yess!! Yesturday I pinned up the hem of my dress and sewed the whole hem, of which I was not planing on doing! I worked a good two and a half hours on it, about an hour and a half on the sewing of the hem, and a hour pinning, ironing and adjusting the hem to the length I liked it. The skirt looks very well.

Yesturday I worked for about two and a half hours on the skirt and a little on the bodice of my dress. I have the skirt done with the exception of the hem. (I even the the hook and eye one there already!)

So, I worked a little on the bodice of my dress yesturday and today too, totalling about four hours. Yesturday, I sewed the side seams and the darts on the bodice, and today, I sewed the gathers and the placket on the bodice. I just finished cutting out my dress, with the exception of the sleeves. I'm still not sure what I shall do for them. Before I cut out my dress, I redrafted (well, accually, draping, more or less)the bodice front peice. I was so surprised at how much more I added to the orginal!
